fun fact: Two cats at home, a few litters raised during my Peace Corps days, and 50 first cousins on my mom's side — I come from a lot of love, chaos, and Living Single reruns.
My approach to therapy is shaped as much by lived experience as clinical training. I was born and raised in New York City to a Senegalese-Muslim family, which gave me a deep, personal understanding of navigating multiple cultural identities, faith and belonging, something I now help clients do without having to compartmentalize who they are.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent several years working in homelessness services and served in the Peace Corps, experiences that grounded me in the realities of systemic stress, instability and resilience. I've also worked in mental health policy, which shaped my understanding of how systems affect people's access to care. I'm additionally a certified doula, bringing a holistic, body-aware lens to my work around major life transitions like pregnancy, parenthood and identity shifts.
I specialize in working with clients navigating ADHD and executive dysfunction, burnout and the exhaustion that often accompanies caregiving and helping professions. My style is warm, direct and collaborative. I believe therapy should account for the real conditions of people's lives, including systemic inequities, cultural context and community.
Creating a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space is at the heart of how I work. I want every client to feel like they can show up exactly as they are and leave each session feeling genuinely met.
I approach this work through a lens that is feminist, culturally responsive and unapologetically rooted in justice.
