MHC-LP
fun fact: Track and football taught me to keep asking what my impact is, on myself and everyone around me. Therapy's just where I kept asking it.
Welcome! My name is Justin Montanez, and I strive to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and accepted. I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and I work alongside clients to navigate life's challenges while fostering growth, resilience, and self-understanding. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, families, and groups in outpatient mental health and substance use settings. I tailor my approach to each client's unique needs, drawing from evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). As a Guyanese and Puerto Rican counselor who has lived in urban, suburban, and rural communities, I have had the opportunity to experience and understand different cultures, communities, and socioeconomic backgrounds. I recognize that each client's circumstances, resources, and experiences can shape their mental health and overall well-being. I strive to provide a culturally responsive and welcoming environment where every client feels respected, supported, and safe to share openly.
