Amanda Macchiarola
MHC-I
As a New York state-based counselor, member of the LGBTQ+ community, and racial justice ally, I take an anti-oppressive, sex/kink/ENM-affirming, faith/spirituality-welcoming, Health At Every Size (HAES), disability justice, and survivor-friendly stance towards counseling. If you’re looking to deepen your relationship with yourself and others, rebuild and strengthen narratives, process experiences, learn or refine coping skills, and/or develop a collaborative and supportive therapeutic alliance, I’m eager to be a part of that journey with you. I work with New York state-based individuals of all ages as well as couples and families.
I provide services that weave together my various experiences as well as evidence-based modalities. By bringing together different schools of thought, we can work together to find the best fit for you and tailor therapy to your needs through a collaborative and supportive therapeutic alliance.
My mission is to use the therapeutic relationship as a way to build connection, strengthen interpersonal skills, and identify dynamics at play in 1 on 1 settings. I am eager to get to know my clients well and to work towards inner connection and self-compassion, as opposed to correction and “fixing” oneself.
