fun fact: I like my coffee like I like my therapy - strong, grounded, and never sugarcoated.
I'm a licensed clinical social worker in NY/NJ and a first-generation Muslim Arab woman, born and raised in New York City. My lived experience informs my clinical work in meaningful ways. I understand what it’s like to move between cultures, hold unspoken family expectations, and navigate the tension between individuality and belonging. I bring this awareness into the therapy room with humility, curiosity, and care. My approach is grounded in deep listening and empathy. I offer clients a space where they can be fully seen without having to explain themselves where their inner world is met with respect, and safety.
I work with adults navigating a range of life stressors, but many of my clients are Muslim women who’ve never felt truly heard, nurtured, or emotionally affirmed especially in childhood. Some have never been in a relationship, or are unsure how to move toward intimacy without shame, fear, or self-doubt.
Others struggle with the impact of growing up in emotionally restrained households, where affection was withheld or love was conditional. In our work together, we explore these patterns gently but intentionally, allowing space for grief, insight, and healing.
